encarga.shop is a shopping ordering app meant for any type of business, but focused more on food businesses. They can offer their products online and have a faster communication with their clients.
For this project, both the app itself and a landing page to promote it have been designed and developed.
In this case, I was involved in the project as a designer and front-end developer.
I have worked along with my colleague Juan Vera, having the idea since the beginning.
Although the main purpose was to approach technology to small businesses in our community, we also perceived the next important aspects:
As known, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected many small businesses, both in our community and in many others across the country. These businesses had to adapt so they could continue offering their products.
We have seen that some businesses, especially gastronomic ones, started using online and interactive catalogs/shops to offer their products. Still, many of them are not designed for small businesses and offer high fees that not all of them can afford.
As we have mentioned, very few businesses (any type) use online sales or communication channels. Among those who do opt for online sales, we’ve seen that WhatsApp was the main channel.
Due to the problems mentioned previously, we thought we needed to offer businesses in our community and in small and medium-sized towns, an economical and intuitive way to offer their products and reach more customers.
With the web app, businesses can access their profile and be able to add, modify and delete products to be displayed in their online shop easily and quickly, giving them the option of self-managing this process.
